Margaret and Brett’s story of how they met and eventually became one, begins like many others, in the middle of a big city and bustling metropolis. They were both toiling away and doing their best to get by and take care of their families and friends. Never suspecting that fate would have them crossing paths randomly and unexpectedly. Margaret was tending bar at a local watering hole in the city. She joked that one day someone tall dark and handsome was going to walk through the front door and sweep her off her feet. Being a single lady, working full-time and taking care of her out of town family didn’t leave Margaret much time for herself. Unbeknownst to Margaret, someone new just moved in nearby and their paths were about to cross. While not necessarily everyone’s version of tall, dark and handsome, Brett began to cross paths with her, and she noticed the new person in the neighborhood. Brett’s work and travel schedule left him getting back to the city on Sunday afternoons. During his weekly regrouping session for the upcoming week, he would walk down to the little restaurant across the street and decompress and prepare his schedule. These weekly visits allowed Margaret and Brett to become acquaintances, then friends…and then more. After about 7 months of the weekly conversations and mild flirting, Brett finally worked up the nerve to ask Margaret out on a date. He knew if he could talk her into going roller skating that he could trick her into holding his hand, and it worked! They met the way the old-fashioned way, organically and naturally during their journeys. It has hopefully been an inspiration to the people in their lives that you don’t have to take pictures of yourself and put a fluffed-up resume on the internet to find love. They immediately fell in love and began building a life together. Margaret and Brett have been faithful and loyal to one another and their families and friends and both believe that God put them in each other’s lives for a reason. They want to spend the rest of their lives together by thanking God for allowing them the opportunity to be happy and grow together. They also want to thank all their friends and family who have been nothing but loving and supportive of their journey. Thank you to everyone who can be here to celebrate them and their commitment to each other and their community!
